Game Informer’s Joe Juba sat down with Barlog to ask him 102 questions. Barlog doesn’t answer all the questions seriously, and outright avoids answering others. However, he does reveal that the game will feature side quests, and that it will include unlockable costumes for players to earn over the course of their journey. As seen below in Sony’s “Behind the Myths” interview, Barlog delves into the new perspective that the forthcoming God of War will take insofar as its mythology, notions of family, and game mechanics are concerned. As one might expect, in order to solidify Santa Monica Studio’s effort to bring its mythological inspirations to life, there was a lot of research required of the development team when it comes to the title’s roots in Norse folklore and the game’s Nordic environments....

While few gaming franchises receive official LEGO sets, there have been numerous video game-related LEGO creations in the past that celebrate the medium. For instance, one member of the gaming community made a LEGO statue of a Wii with a remote sticking partly out of a TV. Thanks to the efforts of one fan, the God of War community now has a good idea of what Kratos and Atreus would look like as Lego minifigures....

As seen in the two images below, God of War fans will find a highly intricate level of detail in NECA’s Kratos action figure, with the sculpt of the character accurately portraying all of his physical features and accoutrements found in Sony’s promotional wares that have been shared for the game so far. As far as its technical qualities are concerned, the Kratos toy will stand at seven inches tall, it will have 30 different points of articulation, and it will come with the protagonist’s magic axe and shield accessories....

Ever since its release on January 14th, God of War has seen quite a success on PC. It grabbed the top-selling spot on Steam in just a few days after launching, and it stayed there for around three weeks. It’s reportedly the highest-selling PlayStation game on PC, with reviews on Steam showing an even more positive feeling than what Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone were getting previously. God of War Ragnarok, the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s God of War, is mere months away from release. While fans wait patiently to get their hands on Kratos’ next adventure, they can revisit the original game, which is made easier than ever before thanks to its availability on PC and through PS Plus. Those who are revisiting the 2018 God of War game may decide to take the Photo Mode for a spin to search the game world, and if they do, they may stumble upon some strange discoveries....

The Mystic Gates, or gateways, are magical stone arches that allow you to move across the branches of the Yggdrasil tree to travel between different realms. You also use these magical gateways to gain access to Brok and Sindri’s home, which players will spend a good deal of time visiting and upgrading their gear.
