Santa Monica Studio referenced Tyr’s height recently in an ironic joke about how some people view 5'11 and 6'0 heights as vastly different. But since debuting this joke as a means to incite discourse around Tyr’s height, Santa Monica Studio has also tasked fans with guessing how tall Tyr truly is. Santa Monica Studio has confirmed that Tyr stands at an enormous 8'5 after people had begun to guess correctly. However, there is one character from recent video game iconography that fans have compared God of War: Ragnarok’s characters to in terms of an ongoing height debate.

Fans were quick to compare Tyr’s height with that of Resident Evil Village’s Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, who herself stands at a menacing 9'6 tall while wearing her hat and high heels. Because Lady Dimitrescu received so much attention for her looming height and stature in Resident Evil Village’s marketing, it seems agreeable for Santa Monica Studio to want to capitalize on fans’ vocal infatuation with vertically inclined characters.
Santa Monica Studio has cheekily retorted that they “know what the people want” in this regard, meaning that the decision to highlight Tyr’s height is a conscious choice due to Lady Dimitrescu’s popularity. While minor narrative details in God of War: Ragnarok have been revealed, Santa Monica Studio seems to be enjoying stirring fan discourse about the footage that has been shown.
Kratos’ rage and strength make the character appear indomitable, despite larger-than-life opponents and creatures that he has faced in previous God of War installments. But it will be interesting nonetheless to see Kratos and Atreus come face-to-face with new characters such as Tyr, whose willingness to assist them is yet to be determined.
In the meantime, fans may continue to enjoy playful memes and speculate about which characters may appear, as it has been confirmed that the fated Ragnarok event, as well as the conclusion of God of War’s Norse saga, is set to arrive in this upcoming installment.
God of War: Ragnarok is set to release in 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
