However, despite the immense critical acclaim, fans were unhappy about a missing feature in God of War Ragnarok: photo mode. Photo mode is present in most modern-day video games, letting players take pictures of in-game events. Modern video games are designed with a strong focus on graphics and scenic beauty, enabling activities like video game photography to be more popular. Luckily, God of War Ragnarok’s latest update adds the highly anticipated photo mode and many other notable features.

The PlayStation Blog confirmed that God of War Ragnarok photo mode is live as of the latest update. Players can now click amazing pictures of Kratos and Atreus as they venture into the nine realms of Norse mythology. Besides Kratos and Atreus, gamers can apply expressions to other characters like Sindri, Angrboda, Freya, Brok, Thor, and Thrud. They can also hide a character from a scene if they only want to capture the landscape.

Furthermore, God of War Ragnarok players can adjust the camera controls with the field of view, focal length, and camera roll while also having control over the shutter with the depth of field, focus distance, and F-stop. The new photo mode in God of War Ragnarok also allows gamers to modify the filters and brightness using the film grain, exposure, and filter intensity settings. The last one provides finer control with an enhanced focus on vibrance and saturation. Fans who want to add borders, vignettes, and logos to their God of War Ragnarok pictures can do so now, thanks to this latest update.

In addition, the QA Lead at Santa Monica Studios, Tim Ward, shared some insights about clicking high-quality photographs in God of War Ragnarok. Tim recommends using vibrance, saturation, and filter intensity settings to get the desired results regarding the color tones. Meanwhile, those who want to add more depth to their shots should try adding a vignette, and players who take vertical photos should roll the camera 90 degrees to add more headroom.
