As many players are aware, God of War Ragnarok has its share of glitches, even if most of them are fairly harmless. Mostly, they are just graphical bugs and small hiccups here and there. However, sometimes, a glitch can occur in a game that has a detrimental impact on gameplay and leads to frustration.

Redditor TheNewShadow posts that Update V3.01 for God of War Ragnarok finally fixes one of these major glitches. Those that have played through the game know about God of War Ragnarok’s Crucible Sword trials in Muspelheim, a series of combat challenges that yield better and better rewards, all culminating in the fight against the new Valkyrie Queen Gna. Unfortunately, there is a glitch that sometimes occurs when players die in one of the trials and restart from a checkpoint in which the Crucible Sword does not come back and stops players from progressing further in the trials.
Of course, this has many different repercussions. First, it makes it so that players are not able to 100% complete the game and get the platinum trophy for doing so. Next, it walls off the encounter with Gna, not allowing players to engage in one of God of War Ragnarok’s best boss fights. V3.0 fixed the Gna arena entry problem, and now V3.01 fixes all issues related to the Crucible Sword, allowing players to get that highly coveted 100% completion status.
God of War Ragnarok players are still discovering new things in the game, even after spending many hours in the Norse realms. Still, the game is vast, with a dynamic cast of characters and diverse locations to explore. As such, there are sure to be more secrets and details revealed as time goes on.
Though the game has a few minor bugs and glitches here and there, most of which are amusing rather than frustrating, God of War Ragnarok is still highly acclaimed and considered to be a masterpiece. Fans can rest assured that Santa Monica is working hard to make sure that game-breaking bugs and sequence-breaking glitches like the Crucible Sword bug are handled swiftly.
God of War: Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
