As God of War Ragnarok breaks the series’s sales record and is taking the video game community by storm, players are enjoying their time in the different realms of Norse Mythology as Kratos, the God of War, and his son, Atreus. The sequel to 2018’s God of War game is highly popular and is receiving rave reviews from players and critics alike.

God of War Ragnarok players are happy about the great reviews, and now, as the game is out and people are playing, more interesting things are being found. Reddit user disneyrain posts a picture of a bookshelf in Sindri’s house that, along with a few scrolls and a glass bottle, houses a few books that any PlayStation fan will recognize as being tributes to other PlayStation Games. There seems to be a clear reference to Ratchet and Clank, as well as one to Astro’s Playroom, but some of the other covers are harder to discern. However, when players combine this Easter egg with that of Kvasir’s Poems in the game, then it all starts to come together.
For those who don’t know, players are able to collect a total of 14 poems by the great poet, Kvasir in the game, with each instance of collection causing a hilarious exchange between Kratos and Mimir about poetry and culture. God of War’s Kratos retains his Spartan identity in small ways like this, while he tries to separate himself from that life for Atreus’s sake in other ways as well. These poems of Kvasir are each a reference to a different PlayStation game like Death Stranding, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us Part 2, and many more.
So, as players traverse the nine realms collecting these poems, they show up on this bookshelf in Sindri’s house. Then, it is just a matter of matching the poem with the cover art of the book to figure out which one is which. Though it may be one of the most common mistakes God of War Ragnarok players are making, exploring the world extensively yields wonderful Easter eggs and references like this during a playthrough.
