For new players, the Amulet may seem a tad confusing. Players will find Enchantments in God of War: Ragnarok, which can be placed into the amulet for permanent and idle buffs to Kratos. Some of these buffs can be paired in threes of the same realm for a special bonus perk, which is why there are some enchantments in God of War: Ragnarok.
9 Remedy Of The Bifrost
Bifrost is an interesting mechanic in God of War: Ragnarok, for if Kratos is hit by those that possess the powers of the Bifrost, then his health will be consumed by a purple bar rather than green. What this means is that Kratos can heal the purple back to green, but only if he is not hit again. By getting hit, that purple will explode into permanent damage until Kratos heals with Spartan Rage of a Health Burst.
To counter these effects somewhat, players can use Remedy of the Bifrost, which allows them to cleanse the purple Bifrost damage from their health bar if they pull off successful attacks. The description reads “This purifying token is said to allow one’s aggression to cleanse the curse of the Bifrost.”
8 Svartalfheim’s Lifeblood
“An enchantment crafted by the Dwarves that can be slotted into the Amulet of Yggdrasil.” This is one of the Svartalfheim enchantments, and it can be used to grant Kratos a permanent boost of both Defence and Vitality. His Defence will raise by 3 and his Vitality will raise by 12. It may not seem like much, but it all adds up in the end.
With this enchantment, players will need to equip two more Svartalfheim enchantments to activate the set perk bonus, which will increase Stun damage inflicted based on Kratos’ defence, a highly useful perk.
7 Svartalfheim’s Safety
This enchantment has an identical description to the other Svartalfheim enchantments. As previously noted, this enchantment can be combined with other Svartalfheim enchantments to activate the bonus perk, an increase in Stun damage. Stun damage is extremely useful for helping Kratos further damage enemies, or execute them while in an invulnerable state.

Not all Svartalfheim enchantments are the same, as this one grants 8 points to Strength, and 5 points to Defence. It’s a fairly decent amount of points, and when players continue to add to their Amulet of Yggdrasil, they will soon notice its importance.
6 Svartalfheim’s Honour
The final enchantment recommended in the Svartalfheim set is Svartalfheim’s Honour. This enchantment has the same description as the others but grants a whopping 10 points to Defence. It’s a high amount of Defence for the enchantment, and one that ensures those hard hitters that seek to damage Kratos will feel like mere ants rather than fists.
By adding up even more Defence for Kratos, the Svartalfheim Enchantment Set Perk will activate, as the greater the Defence stat of Kratos, the greater Stun damage that is inflicted onto enemies of Kratos and Atreus.
5 Token Of Elemental Evasion
“A purifying token granting the wearer the ability to shed some elemental status afflictions.” The perfect God of War: Ragnarok players will rarely get hit, especially by projectiles that will cause elemental damage to Kratos. However, not every player is perfect, and the Token of Elemental Evasion accounts for that.

With this enchantment, players will be granted an Evasive Cleanse, which means that whilst Dodge Rolling, an ability that requires a Double Tap of the X button, players will hasten the expiration of elemental effects, such as Burn, Poison, and Frost.
4 Niflheim’s Virtue
“An enchantment with mysterious origins from Niflheim that can be slotted into the Amulet of Yggdrasil.” This Niflheim-specific enchantment grants 3 points to Defence and 12 points to Cooldown. Defence is an important stat, but considering players should be pairing Niflheim and Svartalfheim’s enchantments, the defence will be greatly raised.
With this enchantment equipped, Cooldown is reduced somewhat, an important stat on its own considering how vital some Cooldown abilities are. There are some great runic attacks in God of War: Ragnarok, and reducing their Cooldown means better combat.
3 Niflheim’s Fortune
The identical description for this Niflheim enchantment proves worthy, as it grants 5 Defence and 8 Vitality. By adding up the Vitality points, players are further creating an extended health bar. It may seem small at first, but once players start investing, that health bar will never deplete to death again.
Pairing this Niflheim enchantment with the other two means that they will unlock the Set Bonus perk, which will increase Kratos’ Melee damage when he is above 75% Health. The fact that this grants extra Vitality should mean players will keep their health above 75%.
2 Niflheim’s Security
Once again, this enchantment focuses entirely on Defence. It’s another great Enchantment, as it will grant a bonus of 10 Defence to Kratos’ stats. Considering that the Niflheim Enchantment Set bonus focuses on increasing Kratos’ Melee damage based on his Defence, it’s wise to invest in this stat.
By utilizing these Niflheim enchantments, Kratos will have a higher defence than normal, as well as deal greater damage. That is, as long as players have the skill to keep their health above 75% in battle.
1 Emblem Of Elusion
“An emblem bestowing the wearer greater abilities of evasion.” Evasion is an important tactic to God of War: Ragnarok. Some attacks from powerful enemies cannot be countered or blocked with a shield, therefore Kratos will need to dodge or roll out of the way. These evasion tactics make combat quicker and more skillful.
With the Emblem of Elusion enchantment, players will gain a burst of speed and travel further during their evades. This makes their timing better and more precise for accurate evades, rather than messing up and getting hit. However, this only activates if the wearer has 60 stats in Cooldown.
God of War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
