God of War Ragnarok, the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s God of War, is mere months away from release. While fans wait patiently to get their hands on Kratos’ next adventure, they can revisit the original game, which is made easier than ever before thanks to its availability on PC and through PS Plus. Those who are revisiting the 2018 God of War game may decide to take the Photo Mode for a spin to search the game world, and if they do, they may stumble upon some strange discoveries.

That’s what happened with Reddit user Navin7143Gamer, who used the Photo Mode early on in God of War to discover a creepy detail about Baldur. One of the earliest scenes in the 2018 God of War game shows Baldur confronting Kratos and Atreus at their home. The two have an intense fight, with Baldur showing up multiple times throughout the story as the main antagonist.

Using Photo Mode while Kratos and Atreus are still in their home, players can peek outside and see that Baldur is standing around, waiting for the cut-scene to be triggered. It seems many God of War fans were completely unaware of this, with commenters on the Reddit post expressing how creeped out they are by the discovery.

Kratos and Atreus only know Baldur as a stranger when they first encounter him, though later it is established that he is a son of Odin. God of War Ragnarok will deal with another son of Odin, as that game will feature Thor as one of the main enemies that Kratos and Atreus have to contend with. Odin himself will apparently be in the game as well if leaks are any indication, though he has yet to make an official appearance.

God of War Ragnarok will be about the Norse apocalypse, which is fitting since it’s been said that the game will be the end of the franchise’s Norse mythology saga. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the game and what the future of the franchise holds.

God of War Ragnarok launches November 9 for PS4 and PS5.
