As seen in the video below, God of War fans can get a gander at the Ghost of Sparta and his offspring doing battle with Draugrs, giant cave trolls, and the harsh elements, with the footage having been 3D-projected onto the hardwood floor of the Golden State Warriors’ turf, the Oracle Arena. For those curious, this promotional ploy was done during the 2017 NBA Champions’ match-up against the San Antonio Spurs.
While this particular God of War advertisement shown during the recent Golden State Warriors game is unquestionably impressive in terms of it sheer size, scale, and ambition, this isn’t the first time that Sony and Santa Monica Studio have sprawled art for the forthcoming title across such a large and unconventional canvas. For instance, the companies put up a huge mural advertisement for God of War in Los Angeles during E3 2017.
All things considered, with God of War’s launch a little more than a couple of months away, fans should expect Sony and Santa Monica Studio to continue ramping up promotion of the forthcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive. While it’s safe to presume that the game’s marketing budget is quite sizeable, it will be interesting to see if the companies are able to use its funds to top this most recent display during halftime at the Golden State Warriors’ game.
God of War is set to release on April 20, 2018 for PlayStation 4.
